J's New Words and His Random Things

I love little kiddie babbles. They sound so cute! My second son had just turned 22 months old and has been saying new little cute words CLEARLY.

"Abbawockees" (Jabbawockeez)
"Dud-dee" (Daddy)
"Yeah, yeah!" (In a very excited tone. He got this from his cousin, Max, I think?)
"Amen."
"Wah-yer" (Water)
"Ah-shurn"(My turn)
"Okay."
"Oh, soweee!" (Oh, sorry!)
"Aaaaaaaay" (sounds like "eye" - I say this when they do something bad)
"Ta-tu" (Thank You! - okay, this one's been around for a while now)
"Shoos" (Shoes)

And many others I can't pick out of my brain right now. Also, his favored word between "Mommy" and "Daddy" is the latter. It's always this scenario:

Me: "Can you say Mommy?" (Oh he can say it!)
J: "Duh-dee!"
Me: "No, say Mooommy!"
J: "Duh-Dee!"

... and the cycle goes on. It's pretty hilarious! His older brother did the same when he was this age. That's what I get when they have such an awesome Dad!

Tonight, he tried to copy his older brother by folding his arms and pretending to pray (babbles) - quickly - and said, "Amen." I like how he gets the idea now that we pray to bless our food and at bed time. Also, another thing he's been copying from his brother are the dance moves as evident from this video:

I love watching them grow and being there for them as they go through it as well. I love how they get along so well (with little fights here and there) and that they love playing with each other. I love being a parent to these two totally different but definitely similarly sweet children.

Happyness and Joy

Yes, I am alive!!! That was a loooong break for me, wasn't it? Anyway...

I love being a mom as much as I love being a wife to my very handsome accountant. Being a mother (or, rather, a parent) is very tiring and challenging. But the hard part of being a parent is often times (if not always) overcome by happYness and joy.

Our children are still young and so innocent. I love the ages they are in right now. C likes to ask questions now, "Mommy, what you doing?" He also likes to correct us if we wrongfully described something ("No, that's not a truck, it's a dump truck!") He still likes to help out, bully his little brother every now and then, and what have you for a toddler. He still loves to cuddle with us on our bed when he wakes up in the morning. He understands a little bit of Tagalog now. Yay!!!

J is growing up so fast. He just turned 9 months old. Where did the time go? He likes to laugh out loud especially during his baths. He takes baths together with his "kuya" (older brother). He loves to crawl around and pull himself up to a stand. He'll cruise around our couch back and forth, and sometimes he'll try his limit and let go for a second (then lands on his butt on the floor). He loves to eat. He eats anything! Which we love, by the way (C is still a picky eater). He likes to say "mama" now and any other vowel-consonant sounds he could come up with, especially when he's really focused on a toy he's playing with.

I love being a wife to my man and being a mother to these two boys, especially on days when I could see and hear this:

C Dear

C just celebrated his birthday.
At his age now, his favorite things are wooden puzzles.
He just graduated from a 12-piece puzzle,

and I bought him a 24-piece puzzle to see if he can do it.

I bought him a "set of 4" Melissa and Doug 12-piece puzzle last month after he
basically can pretty much do his first 12-piece puzzle on his own
in less than 3 minutes

.. but the month wasn't even over yet and he could
already figure out all 5 puzzles (including the new 4 ones) on his own
- again in less than 3 minutes each.
So I guess he's ready for a 24-piece puzzle.

He also has the classic tupperware Shape-O Ball toy,
a shape sorter toy thing, that he likes to play with.
He will really look for the right "slot" for each shape,
and if it is wrong, he will look for another one.
He can figure it out on his own but he loves it when we help him.

He now knows his English alphabet - actually since he was 21 months old.
He can sing/say them in order, and tell you
which letter you just drew for him.

He loves to count.
He learned to count from 1-10 when he was 20 months old.
Now he's learning to count to 20.
He can count from 1-15 and then jumps to 18, 19, 20.
Hahahaha!!!

He loves his colors.
He figured out his colors last month.
He knows red, blue, yellow, green, pink, purple, brown,
black, white, and grey.
Sometimes he gets confused between red and blue, though.
And he still can't answer the question, "What color is _____?"
even though he knows some of the colors.

He loves to swim.
He'd just jump into the pool without any fear at all,
and then rise up to the surface on his own.
Sometimes he wants to "swim" on his own too.

He loves to watch animated movies,
especially Toy Story and Cars.
Once in a while I let him watch some videos on Netflix like
Blues Clues, & Thomas and Friends.
Sometimes he watches the Youtube playlist that I made for him
that's just full of nursery things like the alphabet, shapes, numbers, & colors.
That's basically how he learned his alphabet (from A-Z) at a young age.

He loves trains, cars, school bus, trucks - anything with wheels!
He had a blast when we visited Travel Town in L.A.
during the Memorial Day weekend.
He loved looking at all the big, old trains.

He is pretty much starting to talk a lot more,
& expresses himself more verbally.
He is in the imitating phase where he basically just says
anything we say - like a cute echo!
So, yeah, we are more cautious about what we speak now
than we ever did (although we have always tried).
He loves to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star",
"Baa Baa Black Sheep,"
"Itsy Bitsy Spider,"
"Alphabet Song,"
"I am A Child of God,"
and other songs he has on his Youtube playlist
although he hasn't gotten to sing them verbatim just yet.
All in all he is our happy little fella.

One, Two, Three, Foooooouuuurrrr....

C knows how to count from 1-10.
Sometimes he does it right, sometimes he doesn't
(skips from 6 to 8,9,10).
He loves to count whenever we're climbing down the stairs,
or with his crayons,
or with his blocks:

I don't know how he learned to count from 1-10.
We didn't really force the numbers on him.
But I can remember we were watching this counting video on Youtube one time.
And then the next day he started counting perfectly from 1-10
(I even had that on my Facebook status last month).

In this video, though, he only counted from 1-5 because
he was missing some blocks to count 'til 10.
Hehe.

March 1, 2011

C and I welcomed the beginning of March
with some dancing...

These are only two of the handful of nursery songs
he danced to today.
Besides these, he loves doing "Itsy-Bitsy Spider",
"Wheels on the Bus"
"Pat-a-Cake"
and a few others which I can't remember.
He's currently learning the song, "Little Indians"
(One, little two, little three little Indians),
the Alphabet song (which I've been singing to him ever since
he was just a few months old),
"Baa-baa Black Sheep"
and the Tagalog version of "my toes, my knees, my shoulders, my head."

I'll Stand By You - Carrie Underwood

I am totally in-love with this song.

She has an amazing voice.

Anyway, C and I fell asleep together earlier today
after lunch while cuddling on the couch.
I woke up 15 mins. after, his hair was soaking wet with sweat.
I moved US to the master bedroom, but
he couldn't go back to sleep anymore so I played with him for a while
'til he became sleepy again.
My little one let me play my guitar too,
and this is what he listened to:

Somehow the video is messed up in the beginning
when I uploaded it on Youtube.

This guitar has been with me since 2005.
It stuck with me even though I don't know how to play
that much.
I learned how to play guitar all by myself.
I taught myself how to read the guitar chord chart when I was 12,
and tried to play as much as I can.
But up until now, I only know the basics.
I hardly even know how to tune my own guitar.
(I don't have the ears to tune my guitar).
This guitar's tuning was really messed up before my brother helped me out
through skype.
But then after that, it got messed up again, so I TRIED to tune it
as best as I can before I played this song, so it might be
a little bit out of tune still.

This song is pretty easy so I loved it more.
I wish I could sing, but I can't, so I just played Carrie Underwood's voice
in the background while I played.

And yes! I know my shirt is worn the wrong way... hehe!
The tag at the back of the shirt hurts so I wore it that way.
P.S.
I love my little number one fan towards the end.

"Where Did It Go?"

This is C hanging out with me this morning. He has a lot of words in his vocabulary now, but he only said a few in this video. "Li li lit toh?" (where did it go) is his first sentence, ever! I love his last word in this video, though.
